    Having A Problem With The Webcam On My HDX 9120EA

    Hi the problem im having is when i bought this laptop my webcam was working fine but now when i start it up the screen is just black :( but it is half working as i can take a snap shot and see it :)

    Also if i try to use my webcam on say yahoo messinger i get a message saying my webcam is not installed :confused:

    I have looked on the HP website but they dont have a driver on there for it as i was gona try and over right my driver to see if that fixed it :eek:

    You might try another program, such as Yawcam; it works well, but doesn't record video to my knowledge.

    Thanks for that but i would like to get the original software working again but i cant find the driver

    WEBCAM ISSUE WITH WINDOWS VISTA

    Softpaq is on track to release within the week. It will be pushed through HPU and Heath Check (ADT Alert 2130)

    Customer Solution:
    Add registry key following below instructions:
    1. Type RUN in search field on Vista program menu and press "Enter" to launch it
    2. Type regedit and click OK to launch the registry editor.
    3. Go to
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{6BDD1FC6-810F-11D0-BEC7-08002BE2092F}\0000
    4. Click "Edit" in the menu, select "New" then "DWORD"
    5. Type UvcFlags as the name for the new word and press "Enter"
    6. Right-click "UvcFlags" and select "Modify" in the menu
    7. Type 10 in the box then click "OK"
    8. Close down registry editor and reboot the system

    Preventive Action:
    The fix will be included on new platforms in development
