Somehow on the left side of my mousepad a slight tear has appeared in the pad. Initially I didn't have any problems with it but now my mousepad has begun to start staying in a vertical line and not allowing me to scroll side to side. I gotta believe that its from this tear, the tear is like the surface in this spot has begun create like a slight lower in a spot. Is there anything I can do? its getting worse and worse, what can I do.

Is it still under warranty? I would get it replaced by HP.

I don't think it's the tear. I've had issues with it too, mine died after only two weeks of use. It was the ribbon cable connecting the pad to the mainboard, and since i replaced it it has been working fine.

But agreed, if you have a warranty, send it in.
