    Headphone Jack Noise

    I have a dv2500 with integrated graphics. When I plug in external speakers, I hear some really bad interference (some screeching noise). This doesn't happen with headphones. Today I noticed that the interference goes away when I have an external monitor plugged through the VGA. Anyone know the connection here and any possible solutions for eliminating the noise aside from having an external monitor plugged in all the time?

    Sounds like a grounding issue? I'm going to defer to the board to answer why.

    i have the same problem on my dv9500 and this has happened in many locations so i would rule out grounding problems. When i connect a vga monitor i still have that noise.

    Yes, I plugged in my laptop to the tv the other day and the interference noise is there. I guess the VGA plug had nothing to do with it. Anyone have any solutions out there for us?
