my DV6z-6c00 comes with two headphone jacks. When I plug anything all the way, it defaults to the laptop speakers albeit at a lower volume. No matter what I plug in, the result is the same. It only seems to work if I plug it in halfway. I have tried to update the sound drivers. It doesn't seem to work too well. Some of the sound is sent to my headphones (The audio from talking to my friends on Steam Voice chat or Skype), but other than that I still have the same problem.

right click the speaker on the toolbar and go to play back devices and double check that the default is set to speakers and headphones
