Hello, I have a problem with headphones/speakers in my HP DV6-6150ew laptop with windows 8.1 installed and IDT HD audio codecs
It happened suddenly and out of nowhere. What i have tried so far is uninstall IDT HD audio codec, reinstall it, remove/add device in Device Manager.
The problem:
When i have headphones not connected to my laptop, there is no sound at all. I see green bars in sound mixed under Speakers/HP but the sound is not playing.
When i connect my headphones in the sound is coming from both speakers and headphones. But there is no "green bars" moving which indicates the sound level in device. It also comes out of speakers when i connect plug into the microphone port.
The strange thing is that when i for example enter to playback devices and i select headphones "communication device" and select test suddenly sound comes back to speakers but as soon as the test is done (that short ding dong sound) speakers go dead. Same happens when i go to Sound mixer and from view where i have Speakers/HP, then System Sounds etc. i sleect device to communication headphones and for example change its sound level, suddenly speakers play music for a while and then go silent again.
When i turn off the speakers in Playback devices applications (like winamp or even windows sound manager) crashes and returns errors.
Also, it seems that headphones+speakers combo works even if i disable all inpot/output audio devices in devices manager (and of course speakers without headphones wont work).
Also when i turn off Speakers/HP in "playback devices in sound settings, it reports that there is no playback device (even if my headphones are connected).
I also made a test, i removed all devices from device manager audio input/output and when i refreshed it automatically finds 'stereo mixer', 'communication headphones (even if my headphones are unconnected) and internal microphone , and when i connect in my headphones windows is installing External Microphone instead of headphones???? (checked with other headphones too).
Below are some photos of what im doing:

At 1st you can see how it looks with headphones unplugged. There is control panel -> sound menu opened and there is Speakers/HP icon and Communication headphones Icon, also there is mixer. You can see green bars because im playing sounds all the time but they dont come off the speakers at all.
At 2nd picture you can see that in Device in mixer i can select Speakers and Communication device. At 3rd picture you can see how it looks there. Speakers/HP bars are still green, the music is playing but is not coming out of speakers BUT when i start sliding the volume lvl slider in sound mixer under communication headphones a sound comes out of speakers only for the time i do it. When i stop clicking there it goes silent again.
4th picture shows my device manager, you can see Speakers HP, Stereo Mix, Communication headphones, and internal microphone. I went there and try to disable them all/uninstall but somehow when i plugged in headphones sound was coming out (both of headphones and speakers but not alone speaker with unplugged headphones).
Any help appreciated because im hopeless.
