    Hi guys,

Anyone has already tested this ? if it gives really a digital audio or not ?

If you plug in an optical cable (3.5mm adapter needed) in the SPDIF jack on your laptop and see a red light at the other end of the cable, then it works (you can't tell just by looking in it as there seems to be a small cover door at the end that is pushed open when you plug in the optical cable). To tell whether or not it outputs a true 5.1 dolby digital signal (like during dvd playback), you'd need to plug it into a receiver of some sort to be able to tell.

I use the Toslink digital output on my dv6226us to a Channel Islands Audio VDA-1 external DAC and it works wonderfully.
