I have a 6000t and was wondering how many of you out there think its necessary to use a cooling pad/stand for it. Mine seems to stay pretty cool, but maybe I'm wrong. Let me know. Also, feel free to post what product you use.

Compared to my Sempron-M based V2000Z, my Turion X2 based DV6000Z (actually has a lower TDP) is HOT. Every time I go back to the V2000Z, I get mad that such a cheap system (paid $350 for it) performs so well and so cool and so quiet in comparison to a system that's almost twice as expensive.

I don't have a cooling pad. I'll just have to be careful on my next purchase to consider heat output.

I have a dv9000 with a C2D and I always make sure to keep it on a flat surface, other wise it dies a fiery death.

I have a dv9207 with a core duo. Rarely use it for gaming therefore it does not get hot.

I have a dv2500t and I frequently use a Chillpad--not because the PC gets too hot, but because I got the 12-cell battery and it doesn't sit "evenly" across my lap. The Chillpad gives it a little stability.
