    Hi all

Im seeing there r some issues with reinstalling winXP on the dv8000t.
    my question is,

im not going 2 use the media center or (quick play) if im correct and they r the same thing(?)...

i just want to make 2 partitions, 1 for winxp and 2nd is all the rest of my hd + the small 8mb one that i wont touch

in that case of partition setup will i encounter problems?
by that i mean Error msgs or wired device manager?

    any reply is welcome

    thank you

If you are planning on reformatting and installing XP you will need a XP install disc. HP only allows you to burn off or buy recovery discs which restore your notebook to its original state. If you have an OEM XP CD you'll need to slipstream the SATA drivers into it since it does not come with the SATA drivers.
