So I am new poster to this forum but an avid reader. I just bought a dv5t after canceling a dell studio 15. So much more for the money! I am sooo excited. Can you tell?

Ive been frantically researching info about the cores of all the Nvidia cores. I'm a little impulsive and do my research before investing in anything!

The inquirer sparked the fear that nvidia cards are defective. To what extent cannot really be known; but if we take what the inquirer states as truth and all g92/g94 cards are defective as well as the last gen cards ie 8600 etc. then the 9600 gt will be affected as it is a g94 card. However, the 9600m gt is a g96 card. Correct me if I am wrong, but the possible problems of the older 8600 won't be felt in the newer line.

A lot of people worry about the heat of their gpu's. This is a good thing. you should keep an eye on your computer...but don't stress about it. You'll turn a mole hill into a mountain. Gaming laptops are expected to run hotter than normal. Keep an eye on it and relax.

I had an old lenovo r51 and that thing was a heater for me. And after years....had no problems. Each and every computer will run differently....if your computer is slightly warmer than others...don't trip. If it is blistering on the other hand...then return it and have it replaced. That is the purpose of the 21 return policy!

Don't read to much into forums. It is rare that people brag about how well their machines run. Forums typically are a venting source for any little problem. Don't expect the forum population to be representative of the real world.

This post was kind of long sorry...but I felt posting lol.

Great 1st post. Couldn't agree more about how forums typically work.

    Thank you :)

I think its interesting how people put so much emphasis and read too much into threads based on problems...
Use the forums as a tool to find ways to improve performance, find coupons, etc. The HP's may run hot...but find ways on the forums to improve the situation. This forum is the best place to find information regarding any situation. I myself put a lot of trust into the moderators and people in this site!
