I just purchased the DV6-6117DX at BB this weekend and had the same question. Will this play Diablo III when it comes out. I am adding another 4G of ram. Here are the specs:

    AMD Quad Core A8-3500M 1.5GHz
    4GB DDR3 Memory
    500GB Hard Drive
    15.6" LED 1366x768 Display
    AMD Radeon HD 6620G
    Double-layer DVD±RW/CD-RW
    USB 3.0
    WiFi N
    6-cell Battery
    Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit

Here is a link to the DV6-6117DX http://www.bestbuy.com/site/HP+-+Pavilion+Laptop+/+AMD+A-Series+Processor+/+15.6%26%2334%3B+Display+/+4GB+Memory+-+Steel+Gray/3649058.p?skuId=3649058&id=1218422882872&slref=10&slloc=01

Your configuration has a dedicated GPU (The 6750M) so it should handle Diable III and SC II fine at the 720 resolution. At 1080, it's still playable but you might have to go to medium details instead of high or ultra.

If you haven't bought it yet, I'd suggest adding a 9cell. It'll dramatically increase battery life. It'll also raise the back portion of the laptop by 1in so it'll help with cooling also.

Your config should be able to play Diablo III. However, your card is an "discrete class" integrated card so it'll be less powerful. (Still more powerful than Intel's integrated offerings) The upgrade to 8gb should help.

You can definite play it on low res and maybe even med as well.

Your config is $905 before any savings. If you can swing some more upgrades so it's past $1000 before savings, there's a Extra $50 off $1000 on the customized HP Pavilion Laptops or Desktops after HP Coupon Code NBDT50C115 [Exp. 01/31/12]

It's basically spending $50 more to get $100 worth of upgrades.

If you do, I'd go for the 9 cell and upgrade to the A8-mx processor.

Thanks for your help. My main concern was running those two games because I am trying to buy an affordable lap top specifically for them.
