I cannot play cs:s, hl2 or bf2 on my hp dv6000. My specs are 1.8 AMD 64x2 t-52? I have the nvidia go 6150 with 1 gig ram.
How can i change my dedicated memory in bios? the bios is the "pheonix bios" but I cannot see where to change the dedicated graphics memory (maybe its stuck on 32mb??) i heard the options are 32mb/64mb/128mb.
Also, when I do windows/pause-break to see system options it shows my processor as 795mhz... it used to show that but when I would hit it again it would jump to the 1.8ghz that it is. (which is confirmed in bios). Is my lappy only running on 795mhz? or does what it show not matter?
Thanks!
Mike

What version of the BIOS do you have? An update might be necesary in order to see the video memory option. In any case it wont change your performance since video memory is dynamically allocated based on the needs.
The cpu speed is based on an instantaneous calculation. if at the time you opened windows system menu the cpu was idle in that case it will show 800Mhz. A better way to monitor cpu speed would be by using a utility like CPU-Z which will show you instantaneous clock speed and you can see the speed change based on the cpu usage. -
Thanks for the response. I just checked and it says the bios is version "F. 19"
It stated memory as 996 and video memory as 256mb. I must have missed it last time but it said almost exactly what you typed about the memory being allocated based on current needs.
So what are the people talking about that are saying you can change the memory size? (with the 32/64/128 options)? Do you happen to know where I can maybe get a Bios update to look?
Thanks for the help! -
You can download the BIOS and other updates from HP's support site...
