Guys, I am going crazy here. I've had this computer for 2 months. About a month ago programs like Quick play and Windows Media would just stop responding. I'd exit the programs and go back in and everything would be fine. Recently, the computer started going to a black/blue screen with the following error message:

A problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.

    KERNEL_STACK_INPAGE_ERROR

If this is the first time you've seen this Stop Error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:

Check to make sure any new hardware or software is properly installed. If this is a new installation, ask your hardware or software manufacturer for any Windows updates you might need.

If problems continue, disable or remove any newly installed hardware or software. Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing. If you need to use Safe Mode to remove or disable components, restart your computer, press F8 to select Advanced Startup Options, and then select Safe Mode.

    Technical Information:

    *** STOP: 0x00000077 (0xC000000E, 0xC000000E, 0x00000000, 0x02D47000)

    Collecting data for crash dump...
    Initializing disk for crash dump...

Does anyone know what this means? I've tried both System Restore and System Recover. Restore didn't help at all. Recover helped for two days. Then I tried to burn a CD, got an error in Windows Media (red x next to some songs) and then the above error came back.

Sorry, I did use google, but I think I didn't type in the correct information. I even tried HPs website. This is the message that was on the site at Microsoft's support, but it doesn't help me much:

WARNING: This article contains steps that may involve changing your basic input/output system (BIOS) or complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) settings or that may require you to make physical changes to your computer hardware. Incorrect changes to the BIOS of your computer can result in serious problems. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems that result from changes to your BIOS can be resolved. Change your BIOS settings at your own risk. If you need assistance with any of these steps, contact your hardware manufacturer and note that making either hardware or BIOS changes to your computer may invalidate your warranty. If you do not want to make hardware changes to your computer, you can take your computer to a repair center.

I don't know much about computers, and wouldn't know how to change the BIOS even if I wanted to. Is this something I should try to fix myself or should I send this computer to HP for repair?

This might not help much but here's a possibility. After upgrading my ram to 2 gb of K-Byte I got these:
    BAD_POOL_HEADER
    DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
    PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA
    PROCESS1_INITIALIZATION_FAILED
It didn't happen right away and took about 2 weeks to fail. Eventually it wouldn't boot at all. I put the original ram back in and no problems then. So, I took those back and tried Kingston. So far it's running very well. Maybe you have a chip going bad. Ask around and see if you can borrow someones?

Try out MemTest86 and stress test the RAM...if there is a chip going bad, it will find out pretty quickly.

Hi, If my HP dv6200 fails this MemTest86 would HP accept the result and replace my 2GB RAM ? I have the same problem of random crashes with same error messages.
