Hi i recieved an hp dv6t quad edition a couple months ago and in the past week i have gotten two blue screens... i may know what caused the problem i went into the bios and changed the amd radeon switchable graphics to fixed so it would use the amd radeon 7690m xt instead of intel 3000 graphics. i did this to use what i paid for and also i love to game and i get great fps with the 7690m. The only problem is after a couple days or so of switching to the 7690 my computer has suffered from two blue screens in two or three days! is this due to the graphics card or what? i am getting extremely nervous and i dont know what to do! please somone offer me some guidence here!!!! if i have to i will use the intel 300 graphics but honestly i would perfer the better fps and playing experience.
Thanks for all the help
Joe

Please post your AMD radeon driver's version.

Hey im sorry but if you could tell me how to go about that would be great! i am new to this computer stuff and i cant find it on google
-
Click right mouse button on Computer, select Manage. Device Manager-->expand Display adapters>AMD radeon. Right mouse button on it, select Properties, "Driver" tab--> Driver Version.
-
my version is: 8.882.2.3000
i believe that this is the correct information thanks for the guidence -
I'm guessing that those drivers were downloaded from HP website. They are quite old, just google 8.95.5 drivers (search Google). There are many guides how to install newer drivers for switchable graphics, just search this section ("HP Pavilion Notebooks").
And which game had you been playing when blue screen appeared? It is BF3, isn't it? -
well i was playing arma 2 oa when it appeared and i cant remember the other one... but i will try what you told me thank you for the information

Hi PBNJ12,
Were you able to resolve the issue with the blue screen by updating the drivers? I work for HP and if you need any assistance regarding this please email me your product and contact information at [email protected]. Please include Attn: Veronica-NBR in the subject line.
