OK - Hello to Everyone and thanks for taking time to read this ! !
This is my first post so please forgive any mistakes I make.

I have been reading about my issue for a while now, I am pretty computer literate and still found this one difficult. I bought a DV5000T a few months ago and am pretty well satisfied. Until Lately where there began forming issues with the OS. Slow response, Long Hang, Loss of Wireless signal and the like. I decided its about time we did a clean install of Windows.
After doing some research I learned that the SATA hard drive needs drivers to be on the cd itself intergrated to Windows. So I went through the process with nLite and created a CD. Rebooted and slowly formatted the hard drive with a new Windows.
After the install was complete the reboot of windows fails with a glipmse of a "blue screen death" and a quick restart. After the restart all that happens is it restarts and blue screen flashes and restarts again. I cant access Safe Mode, I cant enter BIOS, I cant run from CD or anything.
Here is where I stand helpless - I dont know what to do !

Here is my laptop Specs: (Pretty much Optioned Out)

    Model Number - DV5000T
    Duo Core 2.0Ghz
    Windows XP Pro
    15.4 Inch Widescreen
    2 GB Ram
    100 GB SATA Hard drive
    Bluetooth

ANYONE HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS AS WHAT TO DO NOW ! ! ? ?

Try removing the hard drive and reinstalling it. A poor connection may be causing your problem. Then do a clean install only from the discs that came with your laptop. Worry about updated drivers only after your notebook is back in it's original "in the box" condition. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

You should be able to access the BIOS and to disable SATA support from there. Try pushing the F10 immediately after you turn the thing on. I think the SATA support is your problem.

OK - After a WHOLE Saturday gone - here is where I stand (proud) :D
I did the disable SATA native support and followed the instructions posted here http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=62357 and it worked quite well. Its is MUCH easier than the whole nLite process.

I am happy to say it is a noticeable difference which I expected.

HOWEVER - There seems to be a problem with the audio volume controls and the mute button right above the F7-F12 keys on the DV5000t. It doesn't adjust the volume and mute doesnt cut audio. The Volume DOES work so I assume the drivers and what not are OK - it just doesn't adjust itself.

    Any ideas? ? ?

Also the light behind the mute control button doesnt turn on either. When pressing the mute button - the windows volume control (on the bottom right corner of windows) shows its mute - but audio isnt properly adjusted ? ? ?

Another issue that has arised - during startup there is an obviously loud snapping/popping noise. Wasn't there before Reinstallation of windows. Is it possible that its related to the Audio Volume Issue ? ? ?

Yea, check the drivers and make sure you install the HD Audio before the actual driver. Good Luck :)
