    Hi.

I have an AMD A6-3430MX , it`s supposed to be 1.7ghz up to 2.4ghz for a single core.

Yet in catalyst 12.3 power section , on battery goes 800mhz-1.7ghz , and on mains power it`s 800mhz to 1.5ghz , and i have never seem 2.5ghz

Why can i get a higher clock speed on battery than on mains power, this is in hp recommended mode.

Any why when i select maximum performance mode is it locked at 850mhz

Help me before i throw this notebook at the wall.

    John.

Have you checked Power Options on 'Maximum processor state' as well as 'Minimum processor state'? Are they set to 100%? Have you tried to use another CPU drivers?

I recommend you give FusionTweaker a shot. Its very easy to use when overclocking. Also, I'd recommend HWiNFO, or AIDA64 to monitor frequencies and HWMonitor to keep an eye on your temperatures.
