How do I change the size of the dedicated Ram in my notebook? I have an HP DV2000. Do I press a button in bootup? etc... I want to lessen it to 32MB thanks in advance.

wait...you want to lower your RAM ?
I am going to assume that you are talking about video RAM. Lowering that will do you no good. Can you explain more of what exactly you are wanting to do and why? -
sorry my bad i want to lower video ram I don't play games and I want to allocate more ram elsewhere other than video

Please provide more details. Your question makes no sense.

What are the specs? dedicated RAM is called that for a reason, it is dedicated to the video card ONLY. shared RAM is however RAM that is taken from the system RAM for the video card's use. you cannot change dedicated RAM, you might change shared RAM but that depends on what you have in that laptop.

If you have an intergrated video card.....GMA 950 or X3100 you can go into the BIOS and lower the video RAM setting....at least on the 4 or 5 notebooks I have touched in the last year or two.

You aren't going to be able to reallocate your vram to system ram...its just not set up that way

If you have the Nvidia 6150, you can lower it to 32MB in the BIOS.

for the nVidia 6150 RAM usage is variable depending on the program you're using. You can change the minimal shared RAM in the BIOS which someone did mention 32mb. For me since I have 4gb RAM I set the maximum shared memory. According to the system it can go up to 288mb "shared" or somewhere around there when needed
