    Help Laptop Not Charging!

    ok my laptop has been in a coma for about a year now (because the previous charger broke), so today i finally got my parents to get a 90W universal laptop power adapter. i plugged it into the laptop and it woke up, but after a while i noticed that the battery icon at the bottom right of my desktop wasnt increasing at all, and my laptop is HOT. i clicked on it and it said "plugged in, not charging" !? i got really scared, i cant leave the wire in all day cause the laptop will overheat! did i get the wrong wire or what?

    this seems like a common program that hp laptops experience after a while, people end up thinking it's the charger but it's the charging board / battery combination. even people in the envy thread are complaning about it. my friends d4t hasd had the same issue etc,

    Definitely a more likely explanation. If you just leave your battery lying around for that long it is bound to die. I have seen it happen to laptops of every brand.

    You can usually get them wholesale off of ebay. Just search for ' insert your model battery'
