A family member gave me an old F572US (she uses her tablet now).
The machine was running Vista ... 2GB of RAM.
I had an SSD and thought would pop it in and load Windows 7.
Will this laptop even benefit from the SSD. I don't see anything in the BIOS (version F19 I think) about AHCI?
Can I upgrade past 2GB of RAM?
Or, is this machine best served with the 2GB of RAM, original 80GB drive, and playing with Linux or something?

You can also upgrade to a SSD. It will increase boot times and add to overall "snapiness" of the system. You needn't worry about AHCI settings as the driver IDE ATA driver will take care of that. -
Thanks for the advice. The laptop is I great shape and with a couple of upgrades i can get some good use out of it.

I up graded my processor from a Tk-53 TO a TL-66, 380 gig HD and now gonna add some memory 4G, I have installed windows 7 home premium 64 bit. Went from 1.7 to 2.3 on the processor.................been a good little laptop.
