I have bought this from the Microsoft Store and in the image, I am able to see a finger print reader. When I received the Laptop, it didn't have the reader. I called in and told Microsoft Store that the laptop I got didn't have one. They told me that the image shown is not a finger print reader. Can any of you guys verify that the image is indeed showing a finger print reader? The link is here

I agree with Microsoft in this case, there's no written reference I can see to a fingerprint reader. Also I don't see a fingerprint reader in any of those pictures.

are you talking about that thing in the first picture on the right.

not so sure that's a fingerprint reader so much as just some sticker.

    but eh.

also it's not listed in the specs on the website anywhere. so pretty sure there's no fingerprint reader.

    the only dv6 I know of with one is the dv6t:select edition (it's a 3000 series dv6t)

I think the thing in the front right is a fingerprint reader, but the picture might be from a different model.

Yeah, I thought so too. I know it doesn't say that on the description but it's not my fault Microsoft didn't syncronize the specs with the image.

@boodies: since it's built using the same frame as mine (in the sig), chances are it's really a fingerprint reader. but I don't think that you will get anything from them because of that picture. although they did not fully disclaim that "the image is for illustration purposes and the real product may be different"

Honestly from the angle you can tell that it is not a fingerprint reader since theres no noticeable dip... It is a sticker and from the looks of it looks like a nvidia sticker...but its ati....weird

on the upside, you've now learned to READ the specs of what you are buying in advance.

    Cheap lesson.
