Hey guys I need some help. So yesterday, I installed Windows 7. Not quite a clean install because I chose custom but I couldn't boot from disc. Anyway, I deleted windows.old and installed some drivers but am having trouble with my fingerprint reader. I installed the driver and it says up to date or whatever and i installed digital persona but, it says it can't detect the reader. I've been trying to figure this out but I have no idea what to do. I'm running windows 7 64-bit.
PS: One more question: Supposedly we're supposed to have a HP device disc or something? My windows 7 package has two identically looking discs and I can't tell the difference between the two....insight anyone?
Thanks for any advice!

What is the exact model # from the bottom of your notebook? You are using the upgrade disks to upgrade from Vista right?
Go here for the fingerprint reader driver. -
I have the dv3t-2000 and i believe i did go here to get it, but why isnt digitalpersona recognizing my fingerprint reader? i saw a solution i think that required me to change 7 .exe files in the bin folder of digitalpersona but maybe that was for an older version? because i dont see 7 .exe 's in mine...

Check out this thread for an answer:

Just be careful where you download drivers from. Also try right click troubleshoot compatibility and try Vista since it ran properly in Vista. -
Still no luck....anyone have an older driver i can use? would that work?

Windows 7 has it's own fingerprint program which only works upon secure log-in. Digital Persona doesn't seem to be compatible with Win7.
