    Hello,

I have an HP dv2000 laptop, it was working fine, I swtich it off and next day noon time try to switch it on, unfortunatly all blue lights turned on but the screen always black.

I tried to connect the laptop to the TV and to an external monitor, but still the same.
H.D light is on also and if I press enter it indicates that it is working.

even I tried to press on del or F12 to enter the bios, buut the screen is black also.

I send the latop to a maintiannce center but they said that it is Cooling system problem and the motherboard is defected which will cost me a price of a new laptop !!!!

Im not convienienced with thier justification, as far as I know if thier is a problem with the motherboard the laptop will not work at all.

Any one can help what could be the problem ?

There's the Service manual with pictures how to take laptop apart.

Motherboard is actually the problem. Either Nvidia chipset or graphics adapter is broken. You can find hundreds of posts all around this forum and other sites about HP dv2000, dv6000 and dv9000 -series breaking. Same issue is also with Fujitsu, Lenovo, Dell, Apple... all major brands used those failing Nvidia chips few years ago.

People at that maintenance center were indeed correct, if they said cooling is the problem: It just isn't good enough. That also means the new motherboard will fail again in the future if you choose to buy a new one. All those motherboards use same chips, it's design and materials were never changed after issues came out.

There is several options what to do.
    1. Replace the motherboard with a new one
    2. Replace the motherboard with a repaired one
    3. Repair the motherboard yourself with either
    a) hot air gun (preferred)
    b) baking it in the oven
    4. Get a new laptop and use old as spare parts
