HI to Everyone
As this is my first thread i am hoping someone could help me choose a new motherboard if possible,
I have a DV6500 and i have been having problems on boot up, when i switch on all lights come on then go off after a couple of seconds then repeats this procedure until i hit "CTRL and Windows button" then all lights stay on but no boot up.
This problem has been going on for a some time now, but every now and then i can switch on and system will boot into windows, i can can use system for a week or so then the problem starts again.
I think the motherboard is giving up and wonder if i could use a different board instead of the 449902-001 thats fitted now, is there a replacement board for this series P/N dv6623em P/N KB365EA#ABU or do i have to stick with the original.
My CPU is a AMD Turion 64 x2 TL-58, and my VGA NVIDIA Geforce 8400M GS,
I'm also having a problem with the DVD/CD Lightscribe when system is running, If i insert any type of media the player starts to run then stops and freezes up entire machine, then i have to reboot with power button.
Any help would be gratefully received and thanks in advance.

It's probably yet another friend NVIDIA northbridge chip. Find LordWalrus's instructions on how to reflow NVIDIA chips in this forum if you want to attempt a high-risk fix. I'd try that before paying for a new motherboard.
Or see if HP will help you:
