I wanted to transfer my video from my Mini DV Sony Handycam(TRV33E), so I used USB cable to transfer video but found that quality of transfer video was not good. Then I purchased Ilink cable(4 pin) and attached my Laptop (dv6114TX) to my Handycam. But nothing happened. The laptop didn't recognised my handycam and neither the software(Image Mixer) that came with it.

So I would like to know whether there is any procedure that should be followed before using the Ilink port (like switching it on) or there is any problem with the with port of computer or handycam. If there is any problem then how could I know whether the problem is in laptop or handycam.

    Also is any driver needed.

Do you want to transfer live video or already recorded clips? If you're trying to transfer the contents of you camera, the cable has no impact on the quality.

As for the firewire, I would check for "unknown devices" in the Device manager. Also be sure to check whether the camera has a special option for using firewire instead of USB (I have such on my digital camera)

ya there is special option and i have activated that option. I wanted to transfer the already recorded clips. I think there should be difference.

The quality of video transfered to cd is not even 30% of the quality that I get if I watched the clip directly on TV.

So can u tell me how can I get the same quality or a near about of the quality that I get from directly watching on TV.
