Download Rightmark memory analyzer. it tells you what type of ram you currently have (and if it's working).

what processor do you have? If it's the Intel based v2000, as far as I remember it used DDR2 memory. What type of memory do you have in it?

I'm in the market for RAM as well. I did a google search and came up to this thread: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=28492&page=12

I also did a crucial.com scan and it came up with this:

I was hoping to be able to use DDR2 ram because newegg.com has 2gb (1GBx2) packs that cost the same as one stick of DDR 1GB. Can anyone confirm that it'll work? The thread I found is a bit dated, and I'm not sure if DDR2 was around at the time. Then again I'm no computer whiz either.

No. You have to use DDR. That's what Crucial is tellng you.
