I need help deciding which to buy for college.. all of them seem great to me! all of them come with a free xbox360 slim !

Oh, and i would like to know if anyone owns any of these machines and what they think of them. Do they get hot, and how good is the battery, are there any negatives i should know before buying one?

i know this could fit in "which laptop to buy" category or w.e but i am more curious on what is the better processor and what the hp junkies in here have to say about all of them.

What exactly are you looking for in the laptop? My only unambiguous suggestion would be to upgrade to the 1920x1080 display -- the 1366x768 one which you've selected for all models is significantly worse. Everything else depends on what you want to get out of this machine. You may wish to fill out this form and post in that forum.

In all honesty my biggest question is on processors, which one is the best for the price of the laptop? I am an engineering student but i am told by the school that whatever i buy will not compare to the labs they have for us (the computers in the labs are amazing..). I just want to have a quick zippy machine that i can potentially play some games on and do photoshop and sony vegas a little.

The intel laptops you selected don't have a dedicated graphics card. You'll only be able to do light gaming on them.

The amd has far better graphics (though you'll want to get the 1gb version, it's a lot better), but the CPU ranges from far weaker (for lightly threaded tasks) to a little weaker (for heavily threaded tasks).

If you want to game you can either:
    a) Upgrade the graphics card to the 6770m in the intel laptops (this will cost like $200 more, the 6470 isn't worth it)

    b) Upgrade the graphics card in the AMD laptop (like $40 more, iirc), but you will still have weaker CPU power even with the 3830mx.

If you don't you can just get another HP laptop (or any laptop) for cheaper with the same intel processor, you'll have the same performance and save some money.

edit: You also might want to upgrade the screen to the 1080p one, if you can afford it. Also, there might be a 30% off coupon floating around somewhere... That would save you a lot of money.

If you want to be able to game, you'll need the dv6zqe. You're not going to be able to do much gaming on an Intel 3000.

I'm not sure that the dv6zqe makes sense with the 512mb video card given the crossfire issues as I think the 512mb card is 6490M or something thereabouts. either get the 1gb card which is supposed to be a 6750M, or just run off the 6620g that's on the apu.
