    Hello, everyone

I recently purchased a new laptop from HP - the HP dm6627om. It is an AMD chipset with the NVidia 7150m integrated graphics. Full specs can be found here: Link

After much disgust with Vista, I spoke with the HP representatives, and downgraded to a spare copy of XP I had lying around. They gave me links for all of the drivers, which appeared to install flawlessly. However, once I got to installing the Conexant HD audio driver, and the modem - both came up with errors. I have spent several hours scouring the web, and talking with HP - and all locations state to use this particular driver, for the dv6000 models.

I've heard rumours about the error i've been having, which for audio is "Driver Installation Failed: Could not find the MEDIA device for this driver." The modem's error is: "Driver Installation Failed: Could not find the MODEM device for this driver." The laptop is under three weeks old, it's suffered no trauma, and i've made no modifications to the hardware whatsoever since I've had it.

I've tried "force installing the driver," but it still fails to install, when attempting to update it from within device manager (from specific location, or windows update)

If anyone knows of a way to get my audio working, I would much appreciative. Please let me know what other information is needed to help rectify the problem.

Make a backup using Acronis True Image and install the original vista drivers for those two devices!

I downloaded the Vista drivers and still have had no luck. However, now both drivers state that they can not find the device, instead of one being device, and one being media.

I 100% know that the card hasn't magically exited the laptop, so could there be some reason that XP isn't recognizing it? If so, any other ways to fix it?

Thanks for the help, though. Just, still no luck.
