Now you might be wondering why i want my computer to fail, well lets just say that it has already failed 3 times in over 9 months of use, which is completely unheard of on my part... that is till i bought a hp pavilion dv9543cl, with the wonderful 8600m gs. man what a great card...
well that means that if it fails one more time i get a new dv7t, in which the 9600mgt will hopefully serve its purpose better.
now, onto what i have been doing to get the gpu to fail
the regime at this time is
1. ati tool scan for artifacts till the gpu gets to about 90-100 celsius (a gpu should never get that hot, but this card must love self inflicted punishment i guess)
2. this is followed by a quick cooling, basically i stick the air port up to an open window, as it is about 36 degrees outside where i am. this brings the gpu down to about 50 centigrade or lower in about 2 minutes.
im hoping that this self inflicted heat cycle will eventually lead the shotty solders to break.
Ive also been turning it off and on continously
I hope the mods do not take this down, as i am NOT trying to commit fraud, i merely want to push the limits of my computer, lol, and see what happens i guess. and besides, i think im entitled to a replacement after just 3 failures, especially since it has been proven scientifically that these gpus will fail eventually, i am simply giving it a boost to failure...
ANY FRESH IDEAS ARE WELCOME TO HELP ME AID MY COMPUTERS DESTRUCTION.![]()

Simple: Block the vents a few times aswell and let it BSOD due to overheating. This should speed it up a bit more.

hahahahha
i knew a guy who did this w/ an older MBP. and he got a new one (late 2008 model).
i dont recommend because now apple is suspicious and has called him and left some odd messages... -
btw this is fraud and IS illegal
-
Ummmm....I, at least, view this as malicious, and therefore not ethical, practically fraudulent, and not something HP should have to honor.

Man with your luck it will probably outlive you and theyll be putting a fully functioning dv9543cl into your coffin.

Either they've been doing a shoddy repair job or it's just really bad luck, but if it actually works now then that's good, no? Intentionally wearing it out like that isn't really right. Sure, stress testing every once in awhile is okay, but not sabotage, even if it isn't outright physical sabotage (vent blocking/hammer/etc.). So the best idea I have for you is to buy some nice high-graphics games and have fun playing them!

they have fraudulently sold me a defective computer, i am merely trying to right the wrong. and i am only doing what a computer was meant to do, run a 3d application over and over again, i have stressed my desktop just as much, and it still runs perfectly. its not my fault i was charged 1600 dollars for a machine that is destined to fail

Dude I agree, Hp & nVIDIA have a lot to answer for, but if I can just bring this to your attention. It's grubs who scam them that make it harder for customers who have genuine complaints, hense where you're at.

We dont allow such discussion in the forums. Trying to right a wrong with another wrong and if your computer is working fine after the repairs then they didnt sell you a defective product. Its only defective when it fails not before.
