Between the two, the Hauppauge. HDTV is a must. Make sure it also handles unencrypted digital cable (QAM) like the AutumnWave USB tuners do.

Can someone recommend an HDcard for mainly using my laptop as a display. ie xbox 360. I know a lot of cards have interlacing issues etc.

If you are going to get a TV tuner card for a laptop, make sure it can do HDTV, regular TV just looks like utter crap when displaying it on a laptop ~

Id' stay away from the Express Card tuner's simply because its annoying to have it sticking out of the laptop all the time.

Also, the coaxial cable dongle isn't very secure - so it tends to fall out a lot, and I generally don't realize till I miss a recording.

I do like the fact that I don't need another Ac adaptor and its one less thing sitting on my desk.

I have the got the Pinnacle HD stick, from Best Buy for $60+tax. So far I have only used getting the HD signal that I get were I live. I get about 5 or 6 HD channels, I don't get a very good reception for the over the air regular channels. I have not tried it yet with cable, but I guess I will work fine. The HP remote control works fine with it, so don't get the version that comes with the remote control if you have the HP remote control that comes with the computer.

Vista handles HD chanels. I have a FusionHDTV Dvico USB tuner, and it works ok (Dvico is still working out compatibility isssues) but generally it is a nice tuner, and picks up the HD channels no prob. It all depends on the tuner. It works perfectly on XP.
