HELP ME CHOOSE, PLEASE? I'm going to use it for gaming, photo/video editing, web surfing.

    750GB 7200 rpm Hard Drive
    15.6-inch diagonal Radiance Full HD Infinity LED-backlit Display (1920 x 1080)

    ENVY 17 ~ $1,428.99

    Specifications:
2nd generation Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2760QM Processor (2.4 GHz with Turbo Boost up to 3.5 GHz)
1GB Discrete Graphics AMD Radeon 7690M
    8GB 1600DDR3MHz System Memory (2 Dimm)
    750GB 7200 rpm Hard Drive
17.3-inch diagonal Radiance Full HD Infinity LED-backlit Display (1920x1080)

    Envy 15 - 5.79 pounds
    Envy 17 - 7.37 pounds
**1.58 pounds, is that a HUGE difference?

Envy 17 is alot cheaper because of an -$250 HP Coupon

Specs are the same, but I'm still confuse on what to choose. So guys, I badly need your opinions. TIA!

The 15inch also has a coupon that should help with the cost.

Get the 17 with a bit more space, it has the 7690m XT CPU, which is 50% better than the regular 7690m.

I ended up buying the Envy 17, with coupon = $1,099.00 before tax

I wanted something with a bigger screen/number pad.
Not really sure but it might have a slightly better graphics card.
I heard the Envy 15 gets the IPS Screen, I'm just hoping that the 17" Radiance screen will be good.

Hopefully one of the more knowledgeable members could help you decide.

If you're looking to buy the laptop I would hurry up before the coupons expires.
Perhaps there will be better deals later, not sure though.

Here are some coupons you can use:
    Envy 15 = Save 33% (NBH7589) Expires 12/17
    Envy 17 = Save $500 (NBY3757) Expires 12/18

    5% Cash Back/Ebates
Open HP Preferred Account & get $40.00 back.
No payments + No Interest if paid in full in 12 months with hpdirect.com Preferred Account. $899 minimum Order subtotal.

    Good Luck

One thing to note is that 17" has 6-cell battery compared to the 8-cell battery on 15". That's backwards but that's how it is. May be 6-cell battery is high capacity or whatever but I don't see how it can outlast 8-cell battery with a bigger screen.

I went with the 17" since I will be retiring my desktop. If that wasn't my plan I would have got the 15" instead. It all depends on what you want to do.
