Hey,
I recently purchased a HP Pavilion dv6217tx, which came with Vista basic installed.
I put my xp cd in to format the hard drive, but I get the message "Setup did not find any hard disk drives installed in your computer".
I've been reading around the forums and people say that I have to "slipstream" the drivers.
Can somebody please clarify what this means. I downloaded a program called nLite, however I cannot get past the step which asks me to find drivers on my computer. Where do I find the drivers for my model etc.
Thanks![]()

Hi, i disabled the sata thing in the bios and now i can install windows xp. Another question, can i delete the HP partition which came on my hard drive. Its 5gb off space.

Yes you can, but are you really sure you won't need to make RECOVERY DISCS first? If you have done it then no problems should occure later.
