Laptops generally have plastic compartment doors on the bottom that allow you to gain access to specific components such as the RAM or HD. Alternatively, you can take apart the entire laptop by removing the screws by their size (manufacturers often use standard screw sizes, so when you remove them keep them in separate piles). Search for disassembly guides for your laptop for specific instructions.

Keep in mind that taking your laptop apart usually voids the warranty, even though it technically shouldn't.

I would contact HP, as well as this shouldn't be in the desktop section.

Opening a laptop is a pretty lengthy and Complicated Process. Unlike a desktop where you can rip the cover off and get into its "guts", you have to pretty much take every component out first before you can access the motherboard/CPU.

Look for the Service Manual on HP's Website for you model. It should tell you what parts need to be removed first before you can access it and how to remove them.

If it's still under warranty I recommend sending it into HP. You can end up voiding your warranty otherwise.

You should ask this in the HP notebook section, not the "desktop hardware" section.

That said the looking up of the service manual is what you need to do, i dont know about HP, but Dell gives easy acess to theirs with a step by step chart showing how to completely disassmeble and reassemble.

You should first check on the HP website and see if there are instructions on opening the case. If you care about warrentys I wouldnt do sergery because, you will most deffinitley void it by opening the notebook.

Also, would you mind giving us any ideas of what problems you may be having, it could be helpful.

my problem is the fan.. other that that, i can tell you that all the visible screws are screwed out, and that there are some i cant get to.. it's not under warranty so i cant send it in.. and even if it was, i wouldn't even be close to caring..

the reason this thread is under desktop hardware is simply, i'm from norway, and was so pissed when i wrote it that i didn't read anything else than hardware..

for so long, thanks for every thing :D
