    Hey chaps,

    Ok here is my lappy's specs;

    Chipset: Mobile Intel Calistoga-GM i945GM
    3D accelerator: Intel GMA 950
    IDE controller: ICH7-M Family Serial ATA Storage Controller - 27C4

    I think that is enough. Basically I want to know exactly what CPU's are compatible for an upgrade and also if it is possible also to upgrade my DVD drive (currently its a 6x MATA DVD-RAM UJ-842S).

    I doubt this but worth asking: is there a chance that I can change the network card to a 802.11n?

    Thanks

    Bump!

    Anyone?

    I'm pretty sure that the Memron range of CPU's is compatible for an upgrade, just wan to double check and confirm.

    CPU / Speed / l2 cache / FSB
    T5200 1.60ghz 2mb 533mhz
    T5300 1.73ghz 2mb 533mhz
    T5500 1.66ghz 2mb 667mhz
    T5600 1.83ghz 2mb 667mhz
    T7200 2.00ghz 4mb 667mhz

    Oh ok, so this motherboard chipset i945 seems pretty versatile. :)

    What would you recommend as a reasonable upgrade over my current T5500 (1.66Ghz)? (I was thinking of going with the T7400 2.16ghz 4mb 667mh)

    Thanks bud.
