    I have an envy 15 3040nr.

This touchpad is quite annoying. I've installed the latest synaptics driver, as well as the new BIOS update to fix the keyboard issues.

However, I find that the trackpad still sucks. I won't even get into the fact that the entire touchpad is damn near impossible to click down for a physical click, which makes that function literally worthless.

My main issue is that the touchpad never seems to properly register my clicks (tap to click). I have to sit there tapping once, sometimes twice, maybe even three times before it goes through. I could sit there double tapping everything, but this just seems inconvenient. This is seriously getting in the way of day to day browsing.

Does anyone have a solution to this? Has anyone updated the drivers files themselves to solve these issues??

uninstall all touchpad software reboot. Install the ORIGINAL driver. Then install the one before the latest.
