I have problems with the Compaq V3000z notebook with nvidia 6150 graphics...

even after installing latest drivers my frame rate is very low.... ive set the display settings to min but even after that its very low...

    sound is not comming...
ive downloaded the drivers over the net and installed but its telling that specified hardware not found.....
tried to add the device in control panel but its not taking....

but onething is that ive not installed windows sp2 ive installed just xp professional...

Is there any relation between installing windows xp pro and sp2.... is it the reason why the frame rate is too low?... even in quake3....?

    please help me ....

    cheers,
    Sandy

You did a clean install of XP Pro that didn't have SP2 integrated? You definitely need to have SP2 installed and by rights the rest of the Windows Updates (except drivers). Some drivers are going to expect SP2 to be there.

Use the drivers from the hp.com support page for your notebook, not the ones from Windows Update.

For the audio problem: You'll have to install the Microsoft UAA HD audio drivers before installing the Conexant ones.

You have to turn it on from the key (light on) in order to be detected by Windows.
You should have the driver in th swsetup folder.

If you have turned off the device from the button, you have effectively disabled it and Windows will not be able to detect it at all. This is what I meant.
