Send it in to HP for repair, there is no such thing as a replacement BIOS chip for you to buy/install. Never, ever unplug/shutdown a computer when you are doing a BIOS update or you will brick your machine. If you bought it from a local store you may be able to exchange it if you have the receipt ...If not you'll just have to send it to HP. In other words, you're screwed. Sorry about your luck.

I dont understand why your laptop didnt update the bios proprely. One thing you have to be sure when you update the bios is that you have to reboot your pc before doing the update. Also you have to close all programs that are working to eliminate any conflict.
You have to be sure also that your windows if free of any virus or spyware that could make your laptop to freeze/lockup during the update.

I feel sorry for your bios problem. Hope you find a way to repair.

Looks like you need a new planar. Hope you didnt try updating the BIOS on a dock.

You can try doing a power discharge first though. Remove all power from it (battery & adapter) and hold down power button for 10 seconds, repeat again and then try powering it on.
