    Hey guys,
I got my laptop with the following configuration

HP Pavilion zt3000 series customize notebook
    - Microsoft(R) Windows(R) XP Home Edition
    - Intel(R) Pentium(R) M Processor 705 (1.5 GHz)
    - 15.4" WXGA Widescreen (1280x800)
    - 64MB ATI Mobility Radeon(TM) 9200
    - 512MB DDR SDRAM (2x256MB)
    - 40 GB 4200 RPM Hard Drive
    - FREE Upgrade from 8X DVD to DVD/CD-RW Combo Drive
    - Intel(R) Pro Wireless 2200 802.11b/g WLAN
    - Microsoft(R) Works/Money
    - 8 Cell Lithium Ion Battery
    - hpshopping in-box envelope

Now, this is my first laptop, so I don't know too much about it and have some doubts. I would like if someone helped me out with it. Firstly, I want to check for dead pixels. As I don't know how to do it very well, could somebody please help me. Additionally, on the screen if I move items or scroll, there's a kind of a lag. I mean, it feels as if there is a slow motion moving effect. Does anyone get what I'm trying to say. And is this common?
Secondly, the ZT 3000 has discontinued the 1.5ghz on the customized models. Do you think it is worth returning the laptop and paying a little extra to get the 1.6 dothan processor? I asked this question before, but I want to ask again.
Thirdly, is it better to opt for the 3 year complete care warranty or is it better to go with insurance? I am in Austin, TX so does anybody know the insurance rates here.
Any people who reply will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks Puneet

Turn off the option to have the mouse pointer trails. That seems to screw the computer up...it never had any effect on any other computer I've owned aside from this one. If you want to return the notebook and think you might get the same price for a slightly faster processor then go for it, but if it will be alot more expensive don't bother...not much of a difference truthfully. I bought the 3 year accidental damage warranty with mine, but if you don't think you'll be carrying it alot then you can go with alot less.

Instead of the processor, I'd upgrade your setup to a higher res. screen and/or a better hard drive. I went with the 1920x1200 screen and it is truly awesome. Along with the 5400rpm 60 gig hard drive it is a pretty quick laptop.
