    Help please i messed up my clean reinstall

    I tried to follow the clean reinstall guide but forgot to back up sw files.

    How do i get the drivers back onto my laptop and/or how do i get my recovery disk to work?

    You can go to hp's site and download the same/ newer drivers for your model.... Or if you have a model thats it is the driver thread you can download from there

    I downloaded some of the drivers from the HP website but my cd drive doesn't seem to be working. I can't get it to run any of my disk.

    the cd drive should work no matter what without any driver. Is there a yellow triangle on the cd drive in device manger?

    no there isn't any yellow triangle.
    but it won't read my recovery DVD at all or any DVD for that matter.

    i'm pretty sure you can't "read the recovery disc" - you need to boot it up before you start windows - did you try using the drive with another disc?

    i restarted the computer and it still didn't work, also the windows install disk didn't work either

    You need to boot from the CD probably. I dont know what button it is but at BIOS you should be able to get to a selection for the boot media.

    Unless you deleted the recovery partition you can usually press f11 during bootup.
