I'm trying to fix a laptop for my friend. He said the battery ran out of juice during use and now when booting the laptop blue screens with the error IAStor.sys. The windows restore option also gets the error before it loads.

The laptop is a standard mechanical drive plus a mSata SSD for quick boot or caching.

I'm thinking of doing a clean install, but is there anything I have to do special to get it to work with the hybrid harddrive/ssd boot?

Also before I knew the bios key I spammed the F1-F12 keys and I got to the RAID options screen before. Like the one you normally get to by hitting CTRL+I on a desktop. I haven't been able to access it since though, anyone know the hot key for this?
