Hi guys, I have a slight problem with my computer which I hope someone knows the answer to.
This relates to when I insert a CD or DVD data disk into my disk drive and then I open the the CD to look at its contents. Instead of seeing the regular icons, Isee that dam IE icon that is superimposed on top of the normal icons-> I don't know why it is doing that. I think it is UDF, but not sure.

Imagine if you open a cd and you have your files on it like Word documents, executibles, folders, etc. Each one has a specific icon to it. Word has a paper document icon to for example. Now, for me, instead of seeing this paper document icon, I see that dam internet Explorer icon with the letter E.

If I choose thumbnails to view the contents of the folder, then the IE E con is shifted downward so that I am see the regular folder icon or Word document icon. And I noticed that it is doing this to all my CD's. This is strange, because it never did that before.

I hope someone has an idea of what is wrong and how I can fix it.
THis only happens if I open up a CD or DVD that has files stored on it. On my computer itself when using the hard drive, this does not happen.
But I do remember that when I went to burn something, I got a message box stating that a file I was burning was larger than 2 GB? and that it would switch to UDF meaning that it could only be viewed with win 2000 and Xp.

Native Win XP Cd burning interface should be the one causing this problem. If you disable it (open My Computer, right click on your CD/DVD burner, choose "Properties...", click on the "Recording" tab then uncheck "Enable desktop CD recording for this CD-R device" and click "OK" * ) your icons should just turn back to normal.

    * of course after this you won't be able to use the XP native CD/DVD burning interface until you re-enable it.
