My first thread was closed, then my second thread was closed saying I already had a thread (which was the aforementioned closed thread). I have no way to ask this question but to repost here with both threads closed.

Is this the CD I want for a fresh install on my DV5t?

HP 441643-001 Microsoft Windows Vista Anytime Upgrade DVD 32bit 66C-00094

I am not sure about the wording. The extra numbers are confusing.

Any Vista Disc will do. They all contain every version of Vista on them.

Do you want Vista 32bit or Vista 64bit? This one only has all versions of Vista 32bit. \

Also don't forget to read the sticky thread : http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=120228

This question is answered in that thread and you'll get answers in that thread to all your clean install questions. You won't need to keep starting threads for every question you have. Good folks with exceptional knowledge can be found there.

You don't want to annoy the mods and end up getting banned.

That's an upgrade disc from a previous OS or from Vista Home Basic not the full installation of vista.

Untrue. It contains the full installation of Vista. It's intended for upgrading from ANY version of Vista below Ultimate. Nevertheless, it can be used for a full install. This particular one, only contains all version of Vista but in 32 bit only.

Gotta read the sticky thread about clean install without activation, folks.

Again, there are only two types of Vista discs, 32-bit and 64-bit. All discs contain all versions of Vista in that architecture. The only thing that discriminates between HomeBasic/HomePremium/Business/Ultimate, Upgrade/Full and OEM/Retail is the license.

The license is everything. That is why HP should be shipping disks not Malware versions of slow Vista they are giving us.

Whoops. I was pointed towards this product when I wanted a Home Basic to Business upgrade so I thought that the disc was only intended for such. My bad....

Yes an OEM disc has the ultimate version, as all the cd's lithus have mentioned has all vista versions, only differs in the platform. Anytime upgrade license is different from an OEM one, as well as RTM etc.
