I have a freshly installed Windows Ultimate 64 system with SP1 which runs great! I installed Youcam to check it out. The problem is that when I try to setup the "Youcam video device" in Skype and Windows Live Messenger (up to date versions) both programs crash.
Has anyone experienced this problem and if so how did you fix it (besides uninstalling it)?
Thanks in advance.![]()

What notebook?
Have you tried the Acer Crystal Eye webcam drivers? This is what i currently use, the HP webcam drivers are messed up -
Actually I dont like HP webcam drivers either. Is the picture quality any better with Acer drivers???
Also, does the HP webcam have any megapixel rating value??? -
Driver quality is the same. The acer is more reliable and its flawless on both 32/64bit
1.3mp. It used to say it next to the webcam lens, now it only says HP -
Would you happen to have the link to the Acer Crystal Eye webcam drivers on hand? I'll try them out and see how that works with Youcam.
I have a dv9260us...have to redo my sig...sorry -

Does this work on XP, or only Vista? And if I've already installed the HP driver, can I uninstall it and install this instead?
