I have a new ZV6000 and am having 802.11 wireless issues. My home router is a Linksys G.

    Issues:

    1) The ZV6000 sees the router but sometimes will not connect. The connection problems appear at random intervals. Also, the signal str. will slide from 80% to 20% ad back to 80%.

    2) The ZV6000 connects to the router, obtains an IP address, but the browser will not connect to any page. I deactivated the firewall, etc. but no luck.

In addition, I have very limited success in connecting to 3rd party access points, ex. in coffee bars. The site manager will see the wireless point, but I am unable to get the ZV6000 to connect.

Question, is this a known issue with the ZV6000, HP laptops, or XP on laptops?

I do have two other Dell laptops running Win2k and XP home, and I have no issues with them connecting my router.

I would try updating the driver for the card and see if there is a firmware update for your router as a place to start. Sometimes the card manufacturer's driver works better, you may want to try it.

I am using the ZV6000's internal wireless card and all of the HP updates are done, as far as I can tell.

I will check the firmware for the router, but it does not make sense that there should be an issue for the HP only.

I was refering to the card maker's driver like if it is a Broadcomm card use their driver instead of HPs.
