    Hi:

I need help with information about the configuration of the dv6000t laptops available for a custom configuration from the HP website.

It is unclear to me if the laptop comes with:

    1) firewire
    2) card reader

It sure doesn't say that these are included, but it seems immensely stupid to me to leave these two things off, when all of their dv6000 models available in pre-configured format from stores do have these two features...

This problem has been haunting me for months, since the dv5000 models were upped to 6000...

Anybody have one of these systems who can tell what is really available on these systems?

    Thanks in advance,

    Dave

Yes, they are both included with Imprint Finish. Only on the laptops that are configured with Standard Finish is it excluded (and the dv6000t is not currently one of them).

Ok.. Thank you... Is there any place that says that on their website? I tried doing a 'Chat' with a support tech, and she was unable to find anything other than what I saw, which was that it didn't include these two items... It is very confusing, and I'm afraid of ordering a computer without having something from HP saying I'm getting FW and and a card reader included...

Any ideas where I can find such info?

Thank you... I am more hopeful now that I will be able to get my dream machine, I just would really like to see it on HP's site somewhere, you know...

Check and see but if you do not get a dedicated graphics card you may loose the card reader and gigabit wan port.

Oops, I was in error about the availability of Standard Finish on the dv6000t (I was looking at the dv9000t when posting). You must select Imprint Finish under Personalization. Click the "Help Me Decide" link under Graphics and a window will show up giving you the information you require.

On a side note, you must also select either the GMA950-Core or GeForce 7400 under Graphics Cards to get the Imprint Finish.

Ok... yes, I see that... that is interesting... and I did miss that...

However, do you get these extra goodies if you get the 256MB Nvidia? When I click on the help me decide, it only talks about getting the productivity ports when ordering the 950-Core, and does not say that you get anything extra with the Nvidia...

Thanks for your continued help on this...

Yes, you also get the additional ports/reader when you choose the 256MB Nvidia.

Enjoy your new lappy. These newest HPs are really very fancy looking, a far cry from the boxy bland look of the previous ones. :)

This thread might help with the firewire and card reader issue. The card reader should be next to the firewire where the remote control is housed.
