Help with freezing?

So I was running my computer for a long project yesterday, and after hours of work were done, I opened a game with my non-intensive project in the background, along with music, while I was in a skype call. For my system, the processing was not the issue here.

The specs are not bad, so I figured it must be overheating. The problem occurred whilst playing the game, my entire system froze and a buzzing noise started to occur, this is the first time I have had the issue and I want to be pro-active about it.

P.S. I have scanned my computer for any major issues and none were found, it might have just overheated who knows, but any advice would be appreciated!
