I downloaded sp37634.exe, the new WinFlash for my laptop. I turned off my antivirus, changed the power settings to never sleep and turned of the screensaver. I closed all programs and double clicked the file to flash the bios. I got all the warnings to make sure the power was not interupted, not to touch the laptop during the process and don't unplug or plug in anything. I took the dogs to the kitchen and locked them in, came back, there was a message to compare dates of the new bios against the exsisting one. I clicked Okay to install. Came back in a bit and the laptop is turned off. No lights, just the blue around the power cord. What now? It's been over an hour and a half.

Okay, I realize what I did wrong, can my system be saved? I didn't run the WinFlash Utility first. I simply double clicked the sp37634.exe file. Please help...

Okay, so I jumped the gun. I just did a chat with HP and the patient guy told me to simply turn the notebook on... I feel so silly. I've only ever installed new drivers before and they almost always reboot; never turn the machine off. I thought the laptop was stuck in limbo. All is well. The learning process continues...
