I don't mean to start a war. I just want to know when normally HP release laptop with certain graphic card.

OK, I own Pavilion zd7377 (nVIDIA 5700). I noticed that the successor, zd8000 all use ATi radeon, and recently, the new dv9000 use nVIDIA. HDX uses ATi.

My question is: will there be a model of Pavilion HDX with nVIDIA (particularly 8800)?

There are currently 2 things that prevents me from buying HDX: Blu-ray and graphic card (I want nVIDIA). Will HP, under normal circumstance, will release it?

This is not confirmed, but ive been hearing alot that the HDX will actually soon have a choice between the 8700 and the 2600, and considering the 8800 will soon be the highest end cards for laptops, my money is on "yes" they probably will make HDX customizable graphically. Keep in mind its not just another HP computer that will ALWAYS have ATI like the pavillions. this was a collaboration with another Laptop company it bought,( i forget, was it voodoo?) so its gonna be more flexible like most other high-end laptops like the D900 for example.
    also, 100th post.. w00t!

Well since HP wont release it with blu ray then even if they do magically put an nvidia card in you will still reject it cuz of blu ray.

and no plans to put nvidia cards in that

guess u will just have to watch the HDX through your neighbors window cuz u aint gettin one ;)

@Doodles: I actually have seen a reviewer of the HDX was given a machine with nVIDIA 8 series (but not 8800) in a review. Hope this will be soon (I've read an article - although not thoroughly - that the nVIDIA will be available at the end of 2007)
@SideSwipe: If nVIDIA is put in, then I'll buy the HDX with standard DVD drive. I asked this question because my Pavilion zd7000 liked to turn itself off without reason now, and I really need a new one soon, so I'll consider if HP ever release HDX with BD later, I might buy the spare-part, or just replace the optical drive with Panasonic BD drive for notebook ($1000 / £500). Besides, I can't buy it straight away, as I live in UK, and HDX will be on September.

Considering that intel now owns NVidia, and AMD now owns ATI, it won't be long at all before those are the only available combinations.

OK, here is the article I promised:
    http://www.notebooks.com/2007/05/08/the-dragon-hp-pavilion-hdx-20-inch-notebook-announced/

I'll buy that model with standard DVD drive when it comes out, then replace the drive with this:

If this is true, there is no mention of Intel ownership in any nVidia investor relations portfolios nor in any SEC filings that I've looked at............

If nVidia is owned by Intel, then why does nVidia make motherboard chipsets that run AMD processors?

I think this is one of those, "they're so in bed with them, they must own them" opinions that I see pop up occasionally, because no one's shown proof to the statement yet.
