Hey everyone. I'm reinstalling vista on a friend's dv6000t in attempt to rid him of bloatware... but there's one minor problem. [I tried searching for the right way to do this but i couldn't find a specific thread for reinstalling vista on a dv6000t and ridding it of bloatware.]

Any way i thought i could just use the 'System Recovery DVD' that he ordered with the laptop, because i had used that on my ol' dv4000 to install xp on a new hard drive i had bought for it. That installlation on my dv4000 went smoothly and was real easy, and i was able to choose whether or not i wanted to install certain programs (bloatware) or not. The problem now with this vista System Recovery DVD is that it never gave me an option to do this, and now its going through the motions, reinstalling everything, restarting over and over, installing Norton [ ], etc.

How do i really do a clean vista install for this dv6000t. Thanks in advance for the help. :)

hmm... i saw that... i just thought it'd be easier to do with the System Recovery DVD (since it turned out to be so easy for my dv4000). So there's no way then to do it with this system recovery dvd i made him buy for $20? Dame, what a waste... is it?

Alrighty. Thanks for the replies guys. I'm gonna give that method a try... it's a shame that the System Recovery DVD doesn't get the job done, i thought it would... it was for that reason that i made my friend buy it when he was placing the order for his laptop. shoot.
