    Hi i just bought myself a hdx9120ea but befor i comitted to buying i looked as lots of reviews and spec sheets they all said that this laptop comes with a 512mb dedicated video card but mine came with a 256mb card is this right or have i been ripped of :confused: please addvise thanks

    I think most reviews lump the total amount of RAM that the video card has (both dedicated and shared) into one total sum when they mention that in a review. It's 512mb of video RAM; 256mb on-board, and 256mb shared from the other RAM you have.

    Mobile video cards usually take this approach (using a split between onboard and shared RAM) for many reasons, including power usage (the less RAM to power, the more power saved), cost, and size. I think only the upcoming 8800GTX has 512mb built-in, although even it could be shared.
