Hewlett Placard has been selling laptops claiming that they are Intel latest notebook processor offerings the Core2Duo brand name but instead show specs of the previous generations of Intel’s Notebook Processors.
HP India has been selling the dv2119TX Entertainment Notebook claiming it has a Intel Core 2 Duo Processor that runs at 1.6 GHz has 1 MB Level 2 Cache and a bus speed of 533 MHz.
As far as my knowledge goes I was sure that all the Core 2 Duo notebook processors ran at 667 MHz bus speed and have a minimum of 2 MB to 4 MB L2 Cache. So I decided to check at Intel.
Well I was right! Scammers!

You are not right. Intel did produce Core 2 Duo at 1.6ghz, but didn't offically anounce. HP US has the same option for hp dv2000t

friedclyde,
You are wrong. The T5200 is a OEM processor with slightly scaled down specs.
Read this:

Here is official table from Intel

The T5200 isn't that bad by any means. Most processors have too much power anyway, and you get what you pay for (meaning you got a nice machine for less $$$ that will suit you perfectly fine).

Sorry guys i made a mistake thanks for letting me know. Thanks do you guys know the performance of this processor vs the one clocked at the same speed but 667 MHz bus?

The closest Core 2 in terms of speed is the 1.66GHz@667 T5500. AFAIK, the difference should amount to less than 5% faster give or take a little.
