Yes there are, they have it up on the configurations page of the particular notebook. The 8510/8710 series had quite a lot of 15% off or more coupons from April and later this year I think. Maybe it was May.

At least we know all of the arguing and complaining done on this forum hasn't affected our beloved company. :) :)

I'm going to assume this jump caused by the addition of the 9600mGT :)

Lol, you guys wish. If I'm not wrong 3Q for HP ended at April/May 30th, 2008 and dv5/7t came out July 14th, 2008.

    Edit
Nevermind 3Q ended at July 30th, 2008. But that doesn't mean that the 15days dv5/7t were out that they suddenly made so much. Like the July 4th Sale to flush out the dv2/6/9 series could have boosted earnings also. Plus this was last week's news why is there a need to post this?

It could've been a number of things, but the new DV4/5/7 were so popular that almost everyone had a delay on their orders due to shortages of parts. I know I did. I waited almost two weeks extra for the DV7T that was ordered July 2oth.

If you look at the figures, you'll realise that they didn't get a large profit from PC sales, so it is not relevant at all. The profits were made from cost cutting and at the rate that HP is cutting its costs, it is unhealthy in the longer term. You are already experiencing the effects of these cost cutting measures with poor offshore call centre support, overworked staff and little technical knowledge within the support channels for non-enterprise units.
